Getting around the island without a car is a breeze
The More Nantucket campaign, designed in cooperation with the Town of Nantucket and the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce, is an effort to encourage visitors to travel to the island without bringing a car. From riding the WAVE shuttle bus, walking along the historic streets and lanes and traveling on one of Nantucket’s many bike paths, Remain and its partners firmly believe that Nantucket is a much more interesting and beautiful place when you’re not behind the steering wheel of a car. The campaign also includes collaborations, incentives and special giveaways in conjunction with the Nantucket Lodging Association, local real estate offices and island bike rental shops. The More Nantucket website offers downloadable bike and walking tours that lead visitors and residents safely around the island and is jam-packed with historic information and interesting tidbits about Nantucket.

By the numbers
You can walk or bike from town to our beautiful south shore beaches in under an hour. It is less than a 10-mile bike ride to the farthest ends of the island. Nearly all the beaches and landmarks are less than 20 minutes from town on Nantucket’s convenient, public bus service, the WAVE. Take a trip to Nantucket to see for yourself and “Leave the Keys” at home.

“The More Nantucket marketing campaign is concentrated in July and August. However, we’d like to change the habits of all visitors and residents by encouraging them to travel about the island without their cars. The WAVE runs year round and is free this summer, so it's easy to hop on and rid yourself from the hassle of parking. In addition, our bike paths are a great way to see more of the island.”
